10 Features. Infinite Stories.

Every tool is designed to remove friction and amplify creativity. Here's how each one works.

🧠

1. AI Co-Writer

FictionForge's AI isn't a generic text generator — it's a co-writer that learns your voice, respects your world, and adapts to your genre. Three core modes power the experience:

  • Continue Mode — The AI reads your last 2,000 words, analyzes character motivations, plot threads, and narrative tension, then generates a continuation that matches your style. It understands subtext, maintains consistent POV, and avoids contradicting established facts.
  • Rewrite Mode — Select any passage and ask for a rewrite: tighten prose, expand description, change tone (wry → ominous), or shift tense. The AI preserves your original meaning while reshaping the language.
  • Brainstorm Mode — Stuck on what happens next? Open the brainstorming panel. The AI suggests 3–5 plot directions based on your genre, character arcs, and unresolved threads. Each option comes with a short summary and a "Try This" button that seeds it directly into your draft.

Style matching works through a lightweight fingerprint of your last 500 words — vocabulary density, sentence length variance, dialogue ratio, and emotional tone. The AI adjusts its output to mirror you, not the other way around. Genre adaptation means a fantasy novel gets epic phrasing and lore-aware suggestions, while a thriller gets short, punchy prose and cliffhanger hooks.

2. RPG Level System

Writing is the grind. Leveling up is the reward. FictionForge features a 20-level progression system from Novice (1) to Mythic (20). Each tier unlocks new tools and quality-of-life features.

Lv 1–5

Novice → Apprentice

Core AI tools, basic stats, daily goal tracking. 100 XP per chapter.

Lv 6–10

Journeyman → Artisan

World Builder, Style Analyzer, advanced Rewrite modes. 250 XP per chapter.

Lv 11–15

Master → Grandmaster

Pro analytics, experimental AI models, Plot Outliner pro features. 500 XP per chapter.

Lv 16–20

Legend → Mythic

Exclusive badge frames, mentor program access, roadmap voting, custom themes. 1,000 XP per chapter.

XP is earned from writing words (1 XP per 10 words), completing chapters (bonus 100–1,000 depending on level), maintaining streaks, and unlocking achievements. Each level requires progressively more XP: Level 2 needs 500 XP, Level 10 needs 4,000, and Level 20 demands 25,000. The challenge scales, but so do the rewards.

🏆

3. Achievements & Badges

Over 50 achievements spread across six categories — Writing, Consistency, World Building, Social, Genre Mastery, and Hidden. Each badge has a rarity tier: Common, Rare, Epic, and Legendary.

  • Writing Milestones — "First Chapter" (Common), "Novel Complete" (Epic), "100K Words" (Legendary).
  • Consistency — "7-Day Streak" (Rare), "Inferno Streak — 30 Days" (Epic), "Year of the Writer — 365 Days" (Legendary).
  • World Building — "Cartographer" (create 3 maps), "Faction Leader" (build 5 factions with relationships), "Timeline Keeper" (100+ timeline events).
  • Genre Mastery — Write 10,000 words in each of 5 genres to earn "Genre Polymath" (Epic).
  • Hidden Achievements — Secret badges for unexpected discoveries, like "The Revisionist" (rewrite the same scene 10 times) or "Night Owl" (write 5,000 words between midnight and 5 AM).

Your badge wall is publicly viewable on your profile. Each badge comes with a unique SVG icon, flavor text, and — for Legendary tier — an animated glow effect. Collecting all 50+ badges unlocks the "Omnibus" title and a custom profile theme.

4. World Builder

Building a believable world is half the work of fiction. The World Builder is a dedicated workspace for your story's universe, powered by AI-assisted generation and structured organization.

  • AI Lore Generation — Describe your world in a sentence and the AI expands it into a full lore document: history, geography, magic systems, technology level, cultural norms, and conflicts. Fine-tune each section with follow-up prompts.
  • Interactive Maps — Generate region maps with AI, place named locations, draw borders, and link locations to lore entries. Maps are zoomable and support multiple layers (political, climatic, geological).
  • Faction System — Define factions with goals, resources, relationships (allied, neutral, hostile), and key members. The AI can propose faction dynamics and generate conflict hooks between them.
  • Timeline Builder — Build a scrollable timeline of events — backstory, current plot, and future prophecies. Each event can link to chapters, character arcs, and lore entries.

The World Builder integrates directly with the editor: mention a faction name in your chapter and a tooltip appears with a quick summary. Hover a location and see its lore card. Your world stays consistent because the data lives in one place.

📊

5. Style Analyzer

Get objective data on your writing. The Style Analyzer evaluates your prose across four dimensions and gives actionable recommendations.

  • Pacing Analysis — Measures sentence length distribution, paragraph density, and scene transition speed. Flags sections where pacing drags or rushes. A fast-paced thriller averages 12–16 words per sentence; literary fiction runs 18–22. The analyzer tells you where you fall and how to adjust.
  • Readability Score — Uses the Flesch-Kincaid grade level adapted for fiction. Highlights passages that may be too dense for your target audience. YA fiction typically scores Grade 4–6; literary fiction Grade 8–10.
  • Dialogue Balance — Shows the percentage of your text that is dialogue vs. narration vs. description. Alerts you if any category dominates unnaturally — e.g., more than 70% dialogue without narrative breaks.
  • Genre Alignment Score — Compares your vocabulary, sentence structure, and tropes against genre benchmarks. A fantasy novel that reads like a legal thriller gets flagged. Suggestions include genre-appropriate word choices, pacing adjustments, and trope integration.

Results are presented in a clean dashboard with radar charts and trend lines across chapters. Use it as a revision checklist before publishing.

📐

6. Plot Outliner

A visual storyboarding tool that lets you see your entire novel at a glance. No more scattered sticky notes or lost index cards.

  • Visual Storyboard — Each chapter is a card on a horizontal timeline. Cards show chapter title, word count, POV character, status (drafting / revising / done), and a color-coded act label. Drag any card to reorder — all content, lore links, and character flags move with it.
  • Beat & Act Structure — Choose from templates: Three-Act, Hero's Journey, Save the Cat, Fichtean Curve, or custom. The outline auto-populates structural beats (Inciting Incident, Midpoint, All Is Lost, etc.) and you fill in the scenes. Each beat can be expanded into a full scene outline.
  • Drag-Drop Reordering — Change the order of chapters, scenes, or entire acts by dragging. The AI warns you if a reorder breaks character arc continuity or introduces timeline paradoxes.
  • Progress Sync — The outliner stays in sync with your manuscript. Mark a chapter as "done" in the outliner and the editor shows it as complete. Write a new chapter and it appears as a new card automatically.
👤

7. Character Builder

Characters drive story. The Character Builder helps you design, track, and develop every person in your narrative with depth and consistency.

  • Character Arcs — Define arc types (Redeemer, Fall, Flat, Growth, Tragedy) and map key milestones across your plot. The system shows a visual arc curve and flags if a character's actions contradict their arc trajectory.
  • Relationship Mapping — Draw connections between characters with labels: "ally," "rival," "secret lover," "betrayer." The map updates as the story progresses. Hover any relationship to see the history of interactions across chapters.
  • Character Flags — Set narrative flags (e.g., "knows the secret," "carries the MacGuffin," "is lying about past"). These flags connect to the editor: when you write a scene, the flag status appears as context. Flags can auto-update based on story events.
  • AI Character Sheets — Feed a description and the AI generates a full character sheet: appearance, personality traits, backstory, voice samples, quirks, and secrets. Iterate with prompts to refine.
✏️

8. Rewrite Assistant

Polishing prose is where good writing becomes great. The Rewrite Assistant gives you surgical control over language without losing your voice.

  • One-Click Rewrites — Select any passage and choose from five rewrite targets: Tighter, More Descriptive, More Emotional, More Dialogue, or Change Tone. The AI produces 3 variants; pick the one that fits or request another round.
  • Smart Diff View — See changes highlighted inline: green for additions, red for removals, yellow for substitutions. Accept or reject each change individually or batch-apply.
  • Consistency Checks — The assistant flags inconsistencies it spots during rewrite — a character's eye color changed, a timeline mismatch, or a contradiction with established lore. These appear as optional suggestions alongside the prose rewrite.
🔥

9. Streaks & Goals

Consistency beats intensity. The Streaks & Goals system turns daily writing into a rewarding habit loop.

  • Daily Goals — Set a daily word target (250 / 500 / 1,000 / 2,000 words). The home dashboard shows your progress with a live ring that fills as you write. Hit your goal and earn a streak day + bonus XP.
  • Streak Multiplier — Consecutive days build a streak multiplier (1x → 5x) that amplifies XP earned from writing. Miss a day and the multiplier resets. A "Streak Freeze" item (earned via achievements) protects your streak once per week.
  • Project Goals — Set milestones for each project: "Write 50K words," "Finish Act 1," "Complete first draft by June 1." The system tracks your velocity and predicts completion dates. Miss a self-imposed deadline? It adjusts kindly — no punishment, just a nudge.
  • Weekly Reports — Every Monday, receive a writing report: words written, streak status, badges earned, XP gained, and a "Writer's Tip" generated from your own data (e.g., "You write 23% faster in the morning — try scheduling your sessions before noon").
📦

10. Export System

Your manuscript deserves a professional finish. The Export System converts your draft into any major format with full typographic control.

  • EPUB Export — Industry-standard for e-readers. Includes auto-generated table of contents, chapter breaks, embedded metadata (title, author, ISBN), and cover image. Validated against EPUB 3.2 spec.
  • PDF Export — Print-ready with selectable trim size (5×8, 5.5×8.5, 6×9, trade paperback), gutter margins, page numbers, headers/footers, and font embedding. Supports both screen-optimized and print-optimized output.
  • MOBI Export — Legacy Kindle format with Amazon KDP requirements pre-configured. Includes Kindle-specific features like X-Ray, Page Flip, and Pop-Up Footnotes.
  • DOCX Export — Editable Microsoft Word document with styles, comments preserved, tracked changes (if any), and a linked table of contents. Ideal for editors, beta readers, and submission.

All exports respect your custom styles (font choices, spacing, heading hierarchy) and include your world builder lore as an appendix. Export a single chapter or the full manuscript in one click. Batch export all formats simultaneously for distribution.
